Recently, we challenged the Youth with a question – What if YOU were the church?
What if the entire church was just like you – had the same faith, same prayer life, same bible reading, same soul-winning, same attendance, same service…would it be a place you would want to be?
would Jesus feel welcome?
In the book of Revelation (ch 2-3), Jesus writes some letters to some churches. Churches just like ours. Full of people just like us.
ephesus – “cheater christian” you have left the one that you first loved, Me
pergamos – “feel-good christian” you live in the world and like the worldly false church instead of My true church
thyatira – “thrill seeker christian” you allow the fleshly desires to control you
sardis – “zombie christian” you play the part well, but I know you are really a dead on the inside
laodicea – “flip-flop christian” you are making me sick because you won’t be consistent, you know the Truth but won’t choose it
smyrna – “struggling christian” you’re living in an environment that doesn’t like or understand your “church” thing, much less your faith
philadelphia – “going places christian” you think you are weak, but you have been faithful to Me anyway, I have opened opportunities for you and will be with You
WHICH ONE ARE YOU?
Before you answer, make sure you realize just WHO is asking this question. Get a vision of this (Rev 1:910-18) and THEN answer:
- HE WHO HOLDS THE 7 STARS IN HIS RIGHT HAND
- HE WHO WALKS IN THE MIDST OF THE 7 GOLDEN CANDLESTICKS
- THE FIRST & THE LAST
- HE WHO WAS DEAD BUT IS NOW ALIVE
- HE WHO HAS THE SHARP TWO EDGED SWORD
- SON OF GOD WHO HAS FLAMING EYES & FEET OF BRASS
- HE THAT IS HOLY, TRUE, HAS KEY OF DAVID
- THE FAITHFUL & TRUE WITNESS
- THE AMEN
