when & where:    3rd saturday of each month, 09:00 am (lasts about an hour), upstairs – fellowship hall (if we change the location from time to time, we’ll make sure everyone knows)

acts 1.12-14
12 Then returned they unto Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is from Jerusalem a sabbath day’s journey. 13 And when they were come in, they went up into an upper room, where abode both Peter, and James, and John, and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas, Bartholomew, and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon Zelotes, and Judas the brother of James. 14 These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.

what is the “brotherhood”?

Brotherhood is simple and missional. It is ministering to our church through prayer.

There is nothing to join, no registration, no sign up, no membership, no special handshake – there is only an invitation. You don’t have to be a member of our church, or any church. Everyone’s invited.

We meet for a purpose – every meeting has a focus, a theme, that we pray about. We pray about church, for people in our church, for things that matter to our church. If you are a male – you’re in!  Don’t worry, our ladies get together too – everyone has a place to connect.

why is there a “brotherhood”?

Well, there is a Ladies Circle, so there must be a Brotherhood! And… we are here to pray for our church.

It’s a connection to the time when the apostles met to pray while they waited for the Holy Spirit, for power from God. Jesus told the first disciples to gather together first… THEN look what happened. They turned the world upside down!  (acts 17.6) God gave us this example in Acts 1, and we continue  it today.

Together in prayer, we have the opportunity go to God with one purpose.

In that time of prayer together:

  • there is power (james 5.16) The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much
  • there is hope (phil 4.6) be careful for nothing; … in every thing by prayer…And the peace of God, shall keep your hearts
  • there is a connection (psalm 145.18) The LORD is nigh unto all them that call upon him
  • there is Jesus (mt 18.20) For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I

That is why there is a brotherhood – to minister to our church through prayer, (1 tim 2.8) I will therefore that men pray…

who is the “brotherhood”

It’s men from our church, and their friends, family, and anyone else who finds their way to our church on the third Saturday of each month.  We meet for about an hour – enjoying a meal, a message, and a time of prayer. Even if you show up only for the food, perhaps you’ll leave thinking there is something more going on. However you find your way to our gathering, we’re pretty sure you’ll be glad you came.
