This was our best year yet for AWANA!
We are so grateful to all of the teachers and AWANA leaders, especially Chip and Emmy. And, we are very thankful to all of the parents who allowed their kids to participate. We hope you see the work of God in their lives bear fruit now and in the future.
Our last night of AWANA for Spring 2013 was a perfect evening, and we had a great year. God blessed us all.
We hope everyone will join us this summer, while there is break from AWANA, we have plenty of things planned for the summer!

FOR HIS GLORY
If you ever question…
- why you read your bible
- why you serve
- why you keep going when its hard
- why you fight through the doubts
- why stand when no one else will
- why you should do anything at all
then your answer lies in this simple phrase: For His Glory
It is the reason you can make sense out things that world cannot. It is the reason you can go on. It is the reason we are here. Sometimes, why is not the right question, but we find it hard not to ask anyways. This is the answer. This is the purpose. This is why.
This summer, we’ll explore what this means for us as we walk along our journey of faith. Pray for the youth who will go with us… that they will be prepared to be changed. Pray for those who cannot go… that they too will be ready for change. Pray for our leaders and helpers.
Our youth camps are such special times of growth and fellowship. We are gearing up for our Clean Hands camp in early January. We are loading up and heading out to True Adventure Sports in Alabama.
It is the perfect way to begin 2013 – with our close christian brothers and sisters in a time of learning and growing. Pray for lives to be changed.
Recently, we challenged the Youth with a question – What if YOU were the church?
What if the entire church was just like you – had the same faith, same prayer life, same bible reading, same soul-winning, same attendance, same service…would it be a place you would want to be?
would Jesus feel welcome?
In the book of Revelation (ch 2-3), Jesus writes some letters to some churches. Churches just like ours. Full of people just like us.
ephesus – “cheater christian” you have left the one that you first loved, Me
pergamos – “feel-good christian” you live in the world and like the worldly false church instead of My true church
thyatira – “thrill seeker christian” you allow the fleshly desires to control you
sardis – “zombie christian” you play the part well, but I know you are really a dead on the inside
laodicea – “flip-flop christian” you are making me sick because you won’t be consistent, you know the Truth but won’t choose it
smyrna – “struggling christian” you’re living in an environment that doesn’t like or understand your “church” thing, much less your faith
philadelphia – “going places christian” you think you are weak, but you have been faithful to Me anyway, I have opened opportunities for you and will be with You
WHICH ONE ARE YOU?
Before you answer, make sure you realize just WHO is asking this question. Get a vision of this (Rev 1:910-18) and THEN answer:
- HE WHO HOLDS THE 7 STARS IN HIS RIGHT HAND
- HE WHO WALKS IN THE MIDST OF THE 7 GOLDEN CANDLESTICKS
- THE FIRST & THE LAST
- HE WHO WAS DEAD BUT IS NOW ALIVE
- HE WHO HAS THE SHARP TWO EDGED SWORD
- SON OF GOD WHO HAS FLAMING EYES & FEET OF BRASS
- HE THAT IS HOLY, TRUE, HAS KEY OF DAVID
- THE FAITHFUL & TRUE WITNESS
- THE AMEN
Adapted from the book Forgotten God (Chan, p91).
Come join us for TRUNK OR TREAT – we have a great time of fellowship and fun.
Our Adult Sunday School class (the Missionary class) is sponsoring a cookout that starts at 5:00 – they’ll provide the grilling, chips, & drinks. All you need to do is bring sides and desserts.
Decorate your trunks and brings lots of candy to hand out.
Sunday September 30 is Youth Sunday.
Our Youth are special people, and every month that has a 5th Sunday, we allow the Youth the opportunity to have a primary role in our services. It is a chance for them to serve the Lord as well as prepare for their future roles in the church.
The Youth will be singing songs they have been working on in Youth Choir practice. It is a great time that reminds all of the adults about the importance of discipleship of the up and coming generations.
Come join us in celebrating our Youth and be sure to invite your friends!
